Just like us adults working all day, students work all day too! I know from sitting in students' standard desks and chairs, it is not ergonomic for their growing bodies. In my classroom, my students have an array of learning styles and needs. Finding the right equipment to learn is just as essential as learning itself. Getting flexible seating in my classroom will help my students learn what physical tools they need to be successful and what type of work environment suits their needs. In my classroom, we learn in many different formats. When students are working in their teams, it is not always easy to gather around large bulky desks, but instead gather around the carpet or drag stools to a large communal table to begin collaborating. Many of my students have special needs. Many struggle to see the board, and working on the carpet is the best way for them. To give them a portable desk would help achieve supporting their needs in the classroom and give them an effective learning environment.
