We were fortunate enough to acquire an Oculus Rift VR headset through a grant earlier this year. With the ever growing popularity of Virtual Reality computing, Augmented Reality programs, and advancements in video game technology, I try to incorporate things into my programming classes that will keep students excited about learning. Being able to use this technology in school would be a great enticement for students to work hard learning and putting to use the programming concepts that are necessary in the future workforce. The computer system that we need in order to use the Oculus Rift has to have a faster processor, a much better graphics card, and higher memory than the ordinary computer system the school has for student use. The average computer in the school just does not have enough resources to be able to handle the demand that the Oculus Rift needs to run.
