End of Unit Essay (Senior Research Paper): Choose a novel from the list below that addresses a social, moral, or political issue. Write an argument that shows how the novel is relevant to a contemporary audience and that takes a stance on the issue through literary devices, characterization, or contrasts. (10 pages) I will also use these author's stories to compare to "Heart of Darkness" and "Poisonwood Bible" and the effect of white colonialism on native cultures. An elective, Social Justice through Literature, is offered in our school, and will also use these books.
