My goal is to improve my teaching and include technology as much as possible in my math classroom. Next school year, we will be using a mostly computer based math program. With the current shift to Computer-Based Testing, I am trying to familiarize my students with technology to better prepare them. The implementation of classroom technology increases engagement and collaboration among peers, while personalizing their educational experience. With the use of the iPad and Apple TV, I will no longer have to stand at the board to write notes or examples. I will be able to walk around the room and interact with students as we have rich discussions involving mathematics. Students will be able to write on the iPad to express their thoughts, show their work, and share ideas with others. Since children are surrounded by technology in today's modern world, we need to speak to them in a language they understand. My goal is to show students how vivid and colorful mathematics is as we investigate how math describes the world around us.
