These books would enhance my collection for my second grade readers. Nothing can hook a reluctant or struggling reader better than a good book! Getting "caught" by a series makes it all the more exciting. I want to create an environment where good books are easy to get into their hands. By adding some new series to the collection and adding to the timeless classics, I want to have books that excite each student at whatever level he or she is on. I also took into account series that students have discovered on their own and shared with us. One example of this is the Bad Guys series by Aaron Blabey. Word of mouth praise from a peer is a great motivator!
