I teach 6th grade on-level math to approximately 100 students. The students I teach include 504 special education and general education students. Our socio-economic population is very diverse, and ranges from upper middle class to lower class. One of our three feeder schools is a Title I school. The middle school I teach at has only been opened for 2 years, and is in a fast-growing area. I am fortunate to work with a high percentage of students who aspire to go to college and know the value of a good education. They truly love to learn, and take pride in the success they obtain in the classroom. Additionally, the students strive to learn from their struggles and don't give up. My administration is very supportive, and strongly encourages the use of technology in the classroom, and the ability to support students outside of the classroom. Our sixth grade students participate in UIL, orchestra, choir, and band, student council, theater, and strive to be leaders of the school
