To supplement our reading textbook, the 4th grade teachers at our school are implementing an Iditarod unit. These books will allow for us to extend our students’ learning about the Iditarod. These books will be used by all 5 fourth grade classes at our school, so they will be used by a lot of students. Since the books are on different levels, we will be able to meet our students’ individual reading needs through differentiation. Also, these books will allow for our students to participate in real life learning about the Iditarod. Our school is located in a rural area so our students have little to no prior knowledge about this topic.

About my class
