I am requesting a classroom rug. This project will allow us to have a cozy carpet that is inviting to students and allows time to get out of their traditional seats to come together as a group. This will build a sense of community in our classroom. Students will get a chance to sit all together on the rug, which will help keep my third graders engaged in class discussion. This class rug will really tie the rest of our classroom together, becoming the focal point of our meeting area. We will have class meetings, whole group lessons, read and share books on the rug.
