This year my students are a mix of 2nd and 3rd graders. It will be a challenge to teach children of different ages and of varying degrees of word knowledge. I believe spelling and working with words is critical in developing good reading and writing skills. I want my class not only to become better spellers and writers, but also better readers through the "Working with Words" literacy rotation. I also want them to have fun doing it.
