This year I have the pleasure of looping up to 3rd grade from 2nd grade with an amazing class.I am blessed with a classroom full of voracious readers. An ideal day for my readers and writers is spent immersed in books and having deep discussions about books. They enjoy reading books of all genres and especially love when I introduce them to books they have never heard of before. They love sitting and listening to a read aloud. They truly become part of the story, so much so that a few even shed tears at the end of Charlotte's Web. Because we spent the year together last year, they have read the majority of books in our classroom library and have been exposed to all my read alouds from last year. I want some new and exciting texts to read aloud to them and to place in the classroom library to keep them excited and encouraged to read across all genres. Please help me expose my awesome readers and writers to awesome authors and and awe worthy stories.
