Our Pre-K classroom is based on learning through play. Our activities are mostly completed in small groups. Our students learn primarily through hands-on activities. Having Kindles in our classroom would help our students, especially our English Language Learners, practice new skills and learn in their small groups. We would use the Kindles as part of our center time activities to enhance the students’ center tasks. It is important for the students, especially our English Language Learners, to feel comfortable in our classroom. By using Kindles, we can help all the students by showing them visuals associated with classroom rules, lessons, and center time activities. We want to incorporate technology into centers to make every center more inviting to the students. For example, a student who only plays with blocks everyday might venture to the art center if he could “draw” or “paint” a picture on a Kindle. Since the Kindles are so small and portable, we can use them all over the classroom to support learning.
