We are requesting a djembe drum set so my students will be able to perform rhythm patterns that they have composed, play together as an ensemble as well as give them the opportunity improvise and be expressive. Many of my students come from low income families, so taking private music lessons is not an option. I want to have a variety of instruments for my students to use in the music class room so they can learn and grow as musicians without any limitations. Students who have a music education become better readers. I want my students to have the best well rounded education and opportunity for success so that they can be better citizens of the world.
