Research has showed that flexible seating can improve the attention of students. As students sit in their chairs for the majority of their learning experience throughout the day, I want them to be able to come to the speech classroom and enjoy some movement as they balance on their chairs while learning their speech and language targets. Flexible seating provides a fun and different learning experience. For my project, I have requested five "Kore Kids Wobble Chairs" to fit around our work table. Students would then be able to have a choice if they want their typical chair or to work in the wobble chair. This seating arrangement offers a "fun" and "exciting" change to the room and allows students to have movement and engage their sensory system while working on their speech and language goals. Students work to their full potential when they are comfortable and I want to provide that in my classroom. This project will provide these options as well as some fun colors to choose from!
