Being flexible isn't just necessary for my teaching, but it is also preferable in regards to seating options for the students. Just as every student has different learning styles, students also perform their best when they feel safe and comfortable in their environment. I continually adjust my teaching practices so as to reach each individual where they are academically. I also hope to create a classroom in which each child is not only mentally, but also physically prepared to reach their highest potential. Offering items such as softer chairs, bean bags, etc. will support those who don't prefer the traditional desk and chair.
