Currently myself ( Paula Snyder) and another teacher (Carolyn Burns) have been providing a visual art club at DMS for the last 2 years after school. We absolutely love our club, but have been supplying our students with the tools needed to explore the arts ourselves. Due to our limited funding and growing club, we are attempting to expand projects, mediums, and outreach to more students. We are excited to show them more painting (especially with paper that doesn't bleed through or rip), how to use pastels and further their drawing skills. This was our first year where we had students participate in an art show as part of their yearly talent show. With over 60 entries, our art club students received school wide recognition and support for their artistic endeavors. One of our students was even a winner! It is our hope that providing students with proper art supplies, room, and opportunities to explore the visual arts, that they will become life-long learners in the arts, and allow them a means of self expression. We appreciate you considering donating to our students at DMS for items like paint, palettes and oil pastels.
