In my class, small group time is an everyday activity. During this time student's get to have a more one on one interaction with me. During our small group time, we discuss and dive into all types of literature. Kids tend to move a lot, especially when they are being asked to be still. Many times, they don’t even realize they are doing it. In a regular chair, moving and wobbling can cause a distraction because of noise. Students will have the option to chose a seat that meets their needs. Students who constantly need to fidget will have the wobble stool available. Wobble seats offer a way for students to use their energy without getting distracted or distracting others, and as a result, can focus on the task at hand. Flexible seating offers a choice to the students that will help enhance their learning. If you donate for this project, it will give my students the opportunity to become more engaged in their work and less distracted when given a choice of seating. The wobble seat offers them the chance to wobble and move without distracting others from learning. I have seen how the option of organized movement helps my active students focus better.
