Manipulatives will allow my 4K students to work on fine motor skills. It is important to focus on developing these skills and build a strong foundation for their future. They are expected to learn to write their name, letters of the alphabet, and numbers but many have never even held a pencil before and lack the necessary skills to do so. Fine motor skills are related not only to academics but independent life skills as well. Unit blocks allow students to create and collaborate with their peers. This also allows them to work on social skills while learning. Manipulatives such as Action-Stackers also help them develop critical thinking skills. They can design, create, and problem solve as they play. What better way to learn, than by having fun!
