Our students will use raised garden beds to learn about the life cycle of plants and healthy eating. During the Extended School Year, students will plant and then harvest produce for meals. Our students learn best with hands-on activities and learning by doing. Students will plant, weed, water and maintain their raised garden boxes. We are requesting raised Garden Boxes to ensure all students have access to our gardening project. With any project, tools are necessary for the students to learn through hands-on gardening experience. Students will utilize a sequenced picture schedule to learn how to take care of the classroom garden. Our hope is to teach students to healthfully sustain themselves and promote better food choices.
