My goal for this project is to take fertilized eggs and go through the entire process of hatching, raising, and then using the hens as "farm to table" learning. The students assume that eggs just come from the grocery store and don't understand the concept of where their food comes from. We will use the eggs that our growing chicks (hens) will produce to sustain our little farm, with money for feed. We also have a garden that we will use to provide food for our chicks, so it truly will be a farm to table cycle experience for the students.
