A rug in the classroom is a big deal for my first graders. First, it is a safe space for all students to gather and share their thoughts and ideas. Second, a classroom rug allows students to have another space to complete work or read books. Many of my scholars love the idea of having the rug as an alternate workspace. Lastly, they are warm and cozy. Our first graders will be transitioning to a room that has a tile floor, so we are in dire need of this requested Triangles area rug. It will also help reduce noise in the classroom, which will benefit scholars who are easily distracted. The rug will also help prevent fewer slips in the room.
