I am requesting sixteen tablets for our Science lab because currently we don't even have one. Students are all unique; they all begin at varied stages, learn at different levels and in different ways. When students are learning a new topic some may have no prior knowledge while others have some all the while my English language learners may never have heard of a word before. Implementing the use of a tech center in the Science lab will help me further their understanding of the curriculum. These tablets will allow some children to enhance their prior knowledge while others use Google translate to aid in their understanding of a new topic or newly presented words. My students will benefit from using apps such as Science Journal as it combines lessons with activities and experiments. The Curiosity app will engage users with a short videos, articles and podcasts on a variety of topics ranging from nature to neuroscience. Being that many children do not have the privilege of having a tablet at home adding these tablets will make a world of a difference in the education my students receive.
