My students LOVE dramatic play time. They love to assign each others roles like mom, dad, brother, and sister. Together they come up with ideas of what to cook for dinner and what job each person is going to have while cooking. The socialization skills they learn from these activities are truly remarkable and make it so fun to watch as they are LEARNING by PLAYING! My students need a new kitchen set to play with during their dramatic play time. Currently, the kitchen set in the classroom is over 25 years old and falls apart often while they are playing with it. Sometimes they even get splinters from the breaking wood. A The new Lakeshore Learning kitchen set on this project would be perfect for them to use while they are playing "Kitchen" during their play time. Also during this time, they would love to have a washing machine and dryer to use to pretend to do the laundry. In addition to the new kitchen and washing machine sets, the students would also benefit from having the Lakeshore Learning washable dishes. Their different colors would be great practice for color identification and also be great for sorting in addition to using them during play time.
