The large rectangular tables will allow the philosophy of flexible seating to flourish! These kiddos love to take charge of their learning and choose to sit where they feel most successful. I find that when my students are able to successfully communicate in a safe environment, they absorb the content more easily and are able to share their knowledge with peers around them. Flexible seating provides an environment to encourage collaboration, valuable discussions, and ideas to be shared amongst students. It also promotes cooperative learning strategies to take place, which helps to encourage a positive classroom environment. This unique style of seating also helps with differentiation within students' learning.
