I’m implementing Interactive Math notebooks at my school this year. This will consist of each student creating a notebook for staying organized, and teaching my students to take responsibility for their own learning. The right side of the notebook will be designed for teacher created notes such as foldables, graphic organizers, pictures and tables along with formulas to use in math and much, much more. These notebooks will allow for my students to easily locate concepts and practice what they have learned in class. Once the students complete their notes, the left side will be utilized for practicing the concept. These notebooks will also help my students with organization skills, while providing a map or progression of what they have learned during the year in my class. The notebooks will be used to help them create a portfolio, allow them to use as a resource when they absent from school and gives them another avenue to study. In order for my students to create this interactive learning tool they will each need a notebook for notetaking, the colorful paper will be used to create foldables for each concept taught in math along with examples, lots of glue sticks for gluing their resources and scissors to cut the out. These notebooks will be used to help accomodate the multiple learning styles at one time in the classroom.
