My students come from broken homes, involving drugs and abuse, where parents are not always there and there's not always food on the table. My students are English Language Learners, who can't always get the help they need to complete homework. My students often worry more about what they have to go home to than how much homework they have to complete that night. My students are hard working and diligent. My students are intelligent and determined. My students are often judged by where they live and go to school rather than their capacity to learn. My students are future doctors, lawyers and leaders of a nation that doesn't always put them first. My students CAN and WILL make a difference in this world if people are willing to believe in them enough to give them a chance.
