Learning about coding and electrical engineering is a SNAP even for 6- and 7-year-old kids with Snap Circuits. From learning to follow detailed guides to make the circuit to understanding how electricity flows, every student will gain valuable skills appropriate for their individual levels from this hands-on experiment kit. But wait, there are more STEM activities that my first grade students will enjoy and from which they will learn! What kid wouldn't want to build a robot and have it perform as commanded? The Boost LEGO Robot will be assembled by students and connect to a classroom iPad to complete tasks. My students will be so excited about the fun aspect of this STEM activity that they won't realize how much they are learning! Osmo is a great introduction to coding that is specifically developed for young minds. Kids will also learn vocabulary, problem-solving, and logic skills while playing this iPad connected game. With limited STEM activities in my classroom currently, having these resources will catapult the learning projects I can offer my students.
