In this project I focused on classroom environment. I envision a classroom that my students can come in and forget about all of the challenges when they leave school. I truly believe that classroom culture and environment is an important aspect of academic success; if students are not comfortable, they are often less willing to learn. My project includes organization material such as supply caddies and bins. It also includes cleaning supplies and reading and classroom library materials like comfortable chairs and leveled guided reading books for independent reading. I specifically chose rotating caddies, comfy floor seat chair, and the Grade 3 guided reading set for the student library area. The chairs are specifically so my students will be encouraged and enjoy being in the library area to read. The rotating caddies are to ensure organization at the tables during guided reading, and the guided reading book set will be to allow easy access to students' level of reading books. Students will be motivated and encouraged to learn. By having access to these materials, students will be more comfortable in their learning process.
