These books will allow my dual language students to continue to enhance their Spanish comprehension skills. As part of dual-language, our classroom has a library of both Spanish and English books. My dual-language students love to read - in Spanish and English. Their favorite part of the day is when they get to visit our classroom library and select new books to read in the classroom or take home. Although I do my best to build a library students love, my English section has a much greater selection of books than my Spanish section. My students show much interest in selecting Spanish books to enhance their Spanish language skills and vocabulary to be able to communicate with others in Spanish. One of my priorities now that I teach dual-language is gathering a larger collection of high-interest books written in Spanish. Having more books in Spanish will give my Spanish-dominant students more books to read, and help encourage some of my English-dominant students to read more books in Spanish. Many of the books requested here were suggested by my students who shared their favorite characters, books and book series with me and helped to create this list. Adding books to my Spanish library will allow students to broaden their horizons and develop a life-long love of reading - in two languages!
