SY 2018-2019 This year my classroom is primarily freshmen. They are eager to learn Algebra. They came in the first day looking forward to Algebra and I think they are still in that mode. I need to keep it going all year long. I want them to be as eager to learn the first topics as they are for the final topics. I am also teaching a Senior class of Consumer Math. (Paychecks, checkbooks, taxes, etc.). They are proving to be an interesting class. They each have so much to give to the group, and they are slowly opening up to the classroom. They each individually have so much information and experience to share with their classmates, they just don't know it yet. This year will be better than the last two years. I had some difficulties with some of the students. They had some challenging backgrounds and came in with a host of issues. Hopefully that will not be the case this year.
