At the age of five and six years old, kindergartners tend to have a lot of energy. Through the use of flexible seating options such as stability seats, wobble seats, and floor cushions with low tables, my students will be provided the opportunity to learn in a variety of comfortable and creative seating styles. We want to ditch the desks! Instead of being the teacher that says, "Sit down!" all day, I can give my students an opportunity to take ownership of their seating choice and work in an environment that will foster focus, comfort, and self-control. This unique ability to choose such an important part of their school day will ensure their ownership and involvement in the learning process.
