Each one of my children in a class will be able to have a copy of the book in their hands to be able to follow along with and/or read independently as needed. This book is about a brave little girl during the Holocaust in Copenhagen, Denmark. We study the Holocaust in our WWII curriculum. This book is at a lower Lexile level that my students can read, but the content about Jews, the Nazis, and the WWII content is understandable for most of my learners. This is a book that I remember reading in 5th grade and would like my students to have that same memory.
