The books that I am requesting for our classroom will help my students build their literacy skills. These book titles were carefully selected because they will be used during guided reading to help build important literacy skills. These books were also chosen because they have strong connections to social emotional learning, which is something my students need. So many of the students in my classroom have challenging situations at home. My students will be able to make connections with these stories, which will help them in their day to day struggles. As an educator, I believe books are very powerful things. They have the ability to teach, help students make connections to their world, and they help students wonder while using their imagination. I have also selected a variety of books by Gail Gibbons. This author is well loved by my students because it sparked their interest in science and the world around them. With your donation, you will help my students go on so many wonderful reading adventures. Thank you!
