The materials I am requested to begin our high school's magazine include a laser printer and gloss paper to establish and maintain a student-run publication. Beginning a school magazine will allow students in grades 9-12 to showcase their talents through writing, photography, art, and more. This project will give students interested in journalism the chance to hone their talents, while also increasing the positive culture and community by celebrating the academic, athletic, and social achievements of the whole school. By producing a well-developed and visually appealing quarterly magazine, it will boost student morale and increase the pride within our school family. Our students all deserve the opportunity for something beyond the classroom, but unfortunately, charter schools such as ours are not awarded the financial means to support extracurricular exploration. With the generous donations from supporters, our students will create something tangible they can be proud of for years to come.
