The tables I am requesting are low and appropriate for first grade students to move around the room. This allows them to work collaboratively with other students. With the tables, students can choose to work on their knees or on the cushions. Students work best when they are comfortable and have choices. The cushions can also be placed on a student's chair to provide movement when necessary. Currently, most of the students' day is at desks or chairs. This project would provide different work spaces so that I can give students more collaborative experiences easily in a small convenient space. My goal would be to provide small group writing and small group reading with the tables.
