We are asking for different magnetic building kits to make vehicles, buildings and other items. We are also asking for a table to store the magnetic building kits in so that they will not have to take their hard work apart, this way the children can save their work to work on later or the next day. The children currently use our classroom tables during work time. The magnetic building pieces will help my students improve their fine motor development and strengthen their fine motor muscles while building new things and using their imagination. The magnetic blocks will also help improve their socialization skills as they work together with other students. This will also make it possible for four or more students to work together making projects. We are also asking for STEM kits to help the students to learn how to use their critical thinking skills while working together. The STEM kits and smaller kits we have picked out all require critical thinking, planning, and imagination to come up with an end project that works. Our classroom loves to build things. The projects we have chosen all focused on building. They will learn how to problem solve while building and learn what and how to do things differently. Most of the items can be used to build alone, but it will be more fun working with a friend. This will help the students to improve their socialization skills with their classmates through sharing pieces and deciding where to put them. This will help the students increase their language and communication skills with one another in the classroom. The students will also learn math, science, sorting, patterns, shapes, colors, balance, and counting.
