Books are difficult to come by in my school, and students need a break from direct instruction. Help me make them better readers by stocking my classroom library with and exciting books! These books will be used for assigned reading groups. Studies show reading groups are fantastic because the students develop social skills and reading skills simultaneously. They also learn how to work cooperatively in small groups. These groups will be assigned based on reading level and the kids will get level - appropriate books to read and assess. In turn, students will learn to see reading not as something they have to do, but something they want to do!
