I will be teaching kindergarten in a dual language program for the 1st time this year. I will be responsible for teaching Reading, Science and Social Studies to Spanish speaking children in English as well as English speaking children .It will be the first time that the children are mixed in an academic setting and receiving instruction English for half of the day and Spanish the other half. In order for each child to reach their full potential and to become fluent in both languages, I will have to implement many different ESL strategies that involve hands on and lots of visuals. Their young minds are like sponges absorbing any and everything you present to them. That tis why its so important to get the right material that will provide them with the right amount of movement and stimulation to keep them motivated to become prepared for the wonderful future that awaits them .
