As I reviewed data I learned that students have an understanding of standards and content in general. Students lack motivation and stamina from a lack of reading. The more students read, the more stamina they will gain in order to be able to sit for hours at a time and read to pass various grade level text. Students need a variety of text and I need a set of each to divide students into small guided reading or flexible groups. I chose a grade level set of nonfiction books and ordered 5 of each so that students can work in small groups and have a variety of text to read. Students can not build reading skills if they are not reading text that they are interested in.
