My students love to work around the classroom. By providing them with lap desks and clip boards, they may choose to work in a quieter area on the floor. This will lead to more focused minds. Many students today are not growing up the "traditional way" many of us adults did. The world around them changes quickly and children must learn to adapt and adjust accordingly in and out of the classroom. Within the classroom, I like to have materials organized and accessible for my students in clear containers. As active as children are and need to be, providing exercise balls for balance and stability while working at tables will help promote productivity even when a task requires sitting for extended periods of time.
