We had pipes burst earlier in the year and most of the foam mats I bought had to be discarded. The tile floor, with a concrete subfloor, is hard and cold. This rug will not only cushion their bottoms but also define their personal space within each square. The students use the dry erase markers daily here in school and at home. The finer point helps in following the arrows when practicing their names and staying within the lines. They are also used to practice high-frequency words in the "Read, Build, Write" center. I have 11 reading groups and some of the baskets I have now are too small for the size of the books. The velcro straps keep the desks together as a group.
