Utilizing headphones with microphones, students will have the ability to record themselves reading and then listen to the recording. This will allow them to self evaluate their performances. Through this evaluation they can set goals, identify areas of strength and areas of needed improvement. They will use this self evaluation and then peer feedback to improve their reading fluency which is directly related to comprehension and vocabulary development. As we are only given 5 headsets for the classroom, students currently can only work in small amounts of time, as well as having to share them. There are many things we share in the classroom, headphones are something that should be student assigned. The mouth pieces are close to their mouths, causing bacteria and germs to be easily spread. Additionally, the headphones sit across the top of their heads and can encourage the spread of lice in the classroom.
