I believe that flexible seating will make all of the difference in my classroom next year. Many of my students have specific needs and accommodations. I chose the wiggle seats, yoga balls, and stools as the 3 types of seating to have in my classroom to ensure students have a choice. Many of their needs can be met through these specific seating options. With the choice of different seating in the classroom, my students will begin to feel a sense of community and control in the classroom. Flexible seating encourages students to share with one another. It also encourages students to pair up quickly. I also chose the bouncy bands and desk trays for students who may not need specific seating, but may need a simple accommodation to meet their needs.
