We want to bring our science txt book to life! My students have been learning about various life cycles including butterflies and ducks. Students know in the spring the cycle of nature starts and are excited to see it happen in their own classroom. As good scientists the students will observe and record all of their observations during the project. The students will learn that the duck eggs require a specific climate and environment in order to grow. Once the eggs hatch students will be able to interact with the ducks before they are sent to a educational farm. As city kids, most have not had the opportunity to go to farms to watch eggs hatch. We are also asking for butterfly larvaes. We will be able to compare and contrast the life cycle of a butterfly and a duck by our daily observations.
