As a first year teacher I gathered what I could to have flexible seating in my classroom. Teaching reading and social studies, I feel like it is necessary that they have room to get comfortable while they work. Along with working comfortably, it is important that their seating arrangements make working together a priority. With these stools, we will be able to get tables in the classroom that effectively help collaboration. The exercise balls will keep my most energetic students focused, and the clipboards will allow the students to work around the classroom at any time. My students need these pieces of furniture, to transform our classroom into a comfortable working environment. When they are able to make the decisions of where and by whom they are working, they're learning to make decisions that benefit them socially and academically.
