Albert Einstein said, "The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and science." Students will explore the mysterious world around them using loupes (magnification tools), observing closely, changing the scale, and making theories. The journals will be used to record their observations and theories. These tools, along with questioning, will help students to develop hands-on thinking skills, creativity and scientific literacy in an interdisciplinary approach. Students will build the skills of science, writing, mathematics, art, social sciences, humor, and invention. Oftentimes, students are not given the space to wonder about the world around them. I believe that I can provide an opportunity for students to pause, finding wonder and strengthening their capacity for curiosity.
