My students are predominately African-American and attend a Chicago public high school in which they are high need and low income. More than 70% of students receive free and reduced lunch, and desire to not be victims of their environments, but victors through hard work, access, and experience. The students have the desire to be doers instead of dreamers, but lack access to certain technologies such as, computers, printers,etc. to complete homework assignments, apply for employment, and research potential colleges to attend. My students are motivated to be assets to our society instead of liabilities. Therefore, in order for me to provide them with the tools necessary for them to have the opportunity to develop themselves academically, I need your help with a classroom computer for our college corner, which is in high need of technology. Thank you in advance.
