This is my second year teaching my students Computer Science. They are learning all the skills needed to be successful as students and for their future. In a mission to support NYC to give all students access to the Computer Science Curriculum by 2025, I am asking for help to fund their continued learning and growth. We have tablets that support student learning through some websites and apps, however, they do restrict access to the content and curriculum needed for the Computer Science program. The HP Chromebooks will enable my students to learn computer programing on Scratch. They will also give my students the ability to use the Makey Makey we have sitting in boxes. Unfortunately, we have an inoperable computer lab that restricts my students from accessing all aspects of technology and engage in project based learning experiences. These Chromebooks will also help my special needs students who have difficulty writing in the traditional way. I want my students to have the opportunity to be successful in school by providing them with the tools, resources, and a dream for their futures.
