The literacy resources I am requesting will help my students become better readers. Some of my students will be able to work independently at our listening center playing rhyming activities on game cards. Other students will work in small groups with me playing reading games that will help develop the skill of putting sounds together to make words. Even more students will be working on reading comprehension strategies to help them understand what they are reading. The bottom line is, these resources will bring learning to life in our classroom. Students will be up and doing literacy activities, instead of being told how to do them. My students learn best when physically engaged in a "hands-on/minds-on" activity, and in the classroom they benefit from manipulating materials to learn new information. Your support will give my students a chance to be readers. Some students do not have difficulties developing reading skills, but for the many students who do, these literacy games would provide more opportunities to become successful readers. They are so enthusiastic when learning is interactive and hands-on.
