Students are required to sit for so many hours, and yet we complain that our obesity rate is higher than ever. With flexible seating, students can have the opportunity to stand, move around, and collaborate at tables without being in their chair the whole time. In Language Arts specifically, we are looking to research ways to become activists through fictional stories whose settings are geographically in some of the most poverty-stricken areas of our country. With project-based learning, it requires the students to read, collaborate, question, and research ways to bring attention to matters that may be affecting groups of people all around the globe. I can't wait to use the materials in this order to create a learning environment similar to a thinking tank. I want the students to feel relaxed and comfortable while they think and plan to change the world one day!
