I teach in a Title I school in South Florida. Most of my students are English Language Learners. Most of these students are of Haitian descent. The majority of the students at our school are from low socioeconomic households where books are not a first priority. Most of these students have very low self-esteem when it comes to their reading because they have never found books that were just right for them.
